Paris is a city and part of the Lexington–Fayette Metropolitan Statistical Area in Bourbon County, Kentucky, United States, located on the South Fork Licking River, 18 miles northeast of Lexington. It is the seat of Bourbon County. The city was established in 1789, incorporated in 1839, reincorporated in 1890, and named for the city in France. It is home to The Shinner Building, which is listed by Ripley's Believe It or Not! as the world's tallest three-story structure.
